Call of Duty HQ
The Platinum is blocked offline by online co-op requirements and the always-online launcher architecture.
Reason
Getting a Platinum trophy within the Call of Duty ecosystem is blocked offline due to online connectivity requirements and system architecture constraints.
- Online Co-Op Requirements: The base Call of Duty HQ Platinum trophy, which is tied to the Modern Warfare II base list, requires completing Spec Ops co-op missions. Trophies like Night Fight, Hellride, and Kings of the Mountain demand earning 3 stars in online Co-Op, which cannot be accessed offline.
- Always-Online HQ Launcher: The Call of Duty HQ launcher requires a connection to Call of Duty servers to authenticate profile data, verify content licenses, and load game menus properly.
- The PS5 Platinum Issue: On PS5, Activision structures all CoD releases after Modern Warfare II, such as MW3 and Black Ops games, as DLC add-on trophy lists under the Call of Duty HQ hub. These annual expansion packs do not feature a Platinum trophy on PS5. Only the original MWII base launcher list contains a Platinum, and it is heavily tied to online play.
