Reason

Fortnite is an online-only game, meaning you cannot play any mode or earn trophies without an active internet connection to Epic Games’ servers.

  • Always-Online Requirement: You cannot even reach the main menu or launch a match offline. Attempting to start the game without an internet connection results in a connection error.
  • Trophy Source: All 46 base-game trophies for Fortnite are tied exclusively to the Save the World PvE campaign. None are earned through Battle Royale.
  • Server-Side Data: All mission progress, inventory, and trophy-tracking stats, like building 500,000 structures or completing 1,000 Play With Others missions, are stored entirely on Epic’s servers.

While you can play Save the World missions solo, without other players in your lobby, your console must stay connected to the PlayStation Network and Fortnite servers the entire time.
