Game report
Gran Turismo 7
Always-online progression makes offline Platinum impossible.
Reason
Gran Turismo 7 utilizes an always-online architecture designed by Polyphony Digital to save server-side progress and prevent save data modification.
- Always-Online Single-Player: Almost all single-player progression—including the GT Campaign, Cafe Menu Books, License Tests, Scapes photo mode, and buying/selling cars—requires an active internet connection to access and save progress. Playing offline restricts the game to Arcade races with no saved progress.
- Explicit Online Trophies: Several trophies directly mandate online multiplayer matchmaking, including “In-Depth Mastery” (finish 50 races in Sport Mode) and “Going the Distance Together” distance-tracking trophies.
- PlayStation Network Access: You must be connected to PSN to update your vehicle garage, access the Legend Cars dealership (“Living with a Legend”), and track trophy requirements.
