An always-online co-op shooter whose progression and several trophies require live servers and other players.
Reason
Helldivers 2 is an always-online, co-op live-service shooter. You cannot launch past the title screen without a live connection to the game’s servers, and its entire progression system relies on online communication with Super Earth’s Galactic War map.
- No Offline Play: There are no offline single-player or local split-screen modes available. Even if you play missions completely by yourself, solo, you still require an active connection to the live servers to deploy.
- Mandatory Multiplayer Trophies: Several trophies explicitly require active interaction with other online players, making solo completion impossible.
- Promote Synergy: Provide an assisted reload for a teammate.
- Democracy ain’t done with you yet: Heal another player using stims.
- Extractamundo!: Extract with a full 4-player squad on Hard difficulty or higher.
- It’s the only way to be sure…: Have 6 orbital barrage stratagems active in the exact same location simultaneously, which requires multiple squad members to overlap stratagems.
- PlayStation Plus Required: Unlocking the Platinum requires continuous internet access and an active PlayStation Plus subscription to connect to the game servers and matchmake into squads.
