It Takes Two
A fully offline Platinum, provided you play local split-screen with a second controller.
Reason
However, because it is a mandatory two-player game, you must play in local split-screen with a second controller. There is no single-player mode, but zero online connectivity is required.
- Zero Online Trophies: All 21 base-game trophies can be earned locally on the same screen. You do not need PlayStation Network or an internet connection.
- Second Controller Required: You will need a second local player, or a second controller on hand, to complete the puzzles and interact with required world items together.
- Collectibles and Minigames: The main tasks for Platinum, finding all 25 minigames, Minigame Megalomania, and interacting with optional world gags like the piggy bank, radio, or photo booth, can all be triggered locally.
- Friend’s Pass Note: If you decide to play online using the free Friend’s Pass app with someone else, only the main owner of the game earns trophies; the guest account does not. Local couch co-op sidesteps this entirely, granting trophies properly.
