Server and online-mode trophies block offline Platinum.
Reason
Even though the game features extensive single-player content (such as Story Mode and Klassic Towers), the trophy list strictly mandates server connectivity and online multiplayer.
Explicit Online Multiplayer Trophies: Several trophies require playing online against human opponents:
“Kontender”: Complete 5 sets in the online ranked Kombat League mode.
“King Slayer”: Dethrone the active king in an online King of the Hill match.
“Total Disrespect”: Perform a taunt without getting interrupted during an online match.
Server-Tied Single-Player Modes: Major single-player elements like Invasions Mode, seasonal shops, profile progression, and timed Titan Battles (“The Mighty Have Fallen”) require continuous connection to NetherRealm servers. If you disconnect from the internet, progress in these modes is completely blocked.
Stat & Trophy Syncing: All account stats, mastery experience, and unlocked currencies are tracked server-side; progress made strictly offline will not pop most trophies until connected.
PlayStation Plus Required: Unlocking the online match trophies requires an active internet connection as well as an active PlayStation Plus subscription.
