NBA 2K23

Server shutdowns and online trophies make Platinum unobtainable.

PS5 Online MyTEAM and MyCAREER trophies

Reason

In fact, it is no longer possible to Platinum NBA 2K23 at all—whether online or offline.

  • Mandatory Online Modes: The base trophy list relies heavily on online servers across multiple modes, including MyTEAM (e.g., “Level Up”, “Play With Me”, “Threepio!”) and MyCAREER (e.g., “Social Distancer”, “Finding Treasure”). Even when the servers were operational, playing strictly offline left nearly 80% of the trophy list unobtainable.
  • Discontinued Servers: 2K officially shut down the online servers for NBA 2K23 on December 31, 2024. Because modes like MyCAREER and MyTEAM require active server connections to load, all server-dependent trophies are now permanently unobtainable.
  • Offline Limited to Basic Modes: Without server access, the game locks you to standard offline modes like Quick Play, MyNBA, The W, and Jordan Challenges. While you can still unlock a few offline-specific trophies in these modes, the Platinum trophy itself is permanently locked.
